At the swapmeets, you can buy black plastic egg type insulators for about $1.25 each. At Menards farm and hardware store (Wisconsin and Minnesota) you can buy one plastic egg insulator for $0.085 (Yes, 8.5 cents). They seem to be identical to the black plastic ones, except they are optic yellow, rather than Ninja black. The plastic of both appears to be ABS. For eighty-five cents, you get a baggy of 10 "Corner Post Insulators". These are sold by "Red Snap'r (sic) Electric Fencing Systems". They are made by North Central Plastic Incorporated, Ellendale, Minnesota 56026. Part No. YTRC10. I am still looking for a source of 14 AWG 7 strand bare copper wire. Radio Shack carries it in 75 ft lengths. I am looking for spools of 1,000 ft. -- Julian Macassey, N6ARE julian@bongo.tele.com Voice: (414) 457-0874 Paper Mail: 210 Bleyer Drive, Sheboygan, Wisconsin 53081-8712 ------------------------------ Date: 29 Apr 1994 07:55:29 GMT From: agate!howland.reston.ans.net!EU.net!dkuug!eunet.no!nuug!trane.uninett.no!ugle.unit.no!stud.unit.no!kenneth@ames.arpa Subject: vertical dipole To: ham-ant@ucsd.edu hi, I intend to set up a new antenna for 20-10 m, and wonder if anybody can tell me abt the performance of a vertical dipole compared to some other 'famous' verticals. How is this vertical dipole compared to a horisontal one ?? I have very limited space and also want to use as light material as possible. How about setting up an off-center fed vertical dipole, instead of this center fed one ?? thanks in advance, kenneth. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Apr 1994 00:00:52 GMT From: ihnp4.ucsd.edu!pacbell.com!amdahl!juts.ccc.amdahl.com!p1dbg02!dws30@network.ucsd.edu Subject: What mounts well on an Accord To: ham-ant@ucsd.edu Yes Me Again....
